How To – Glitch/Grunge Transitions

How To Spice Up Your Transitions With The Free Glitch Effect Preset.

It’s tutorial time & in todays’ I’m going to show you lazy filmmakers how to use our latest free preset download thing – The Glitch Transition Pack

So to kick off you will have to have this preset downloaded from our downloads area already. So if you haven’t yet, download it making sure you subscribe to the channel and our mailing list for maximum INGAF spam!!

No you’ve got that you’ll have a folder with the preset file & a SFX folder. Yeah that’s right because I’m so generous I even made you 5 Glitch SFX to match your preset transitions.

Over in premiere pro, drop you SFX folder in your project bin, you may want these later. Next you’ll need to import the presets. That’s simple just head over the Effects Bin, right click Import Preset and find your new shiny INGAF preset.

Now because I’m not just generous but kind, I’ve labelled these to tell you how long the transition is. Look 9 frames, 6 frames, 7 frames. This is important as these presets are anchored to the clips In point – this means you need to drag n drop them onto the second of the two clips you are transitioning between. As the glitch effect will happen at the start of a clip.

Now for some added spice, lets look at taking this effect up a Level.

You’ve got two clips, making a transition, overlap the second clip on video layer 2 to be on top of clip one by the same value as your transition. For example Transition 5 is 7 Frames – so overlap by 7 frames. This creates a look of the two clips glitching into each other, which is really cool. The final stage of polish is to add those SFX I made for you. They’re labelled for each transition – so lets find SFX number 5 and place it to snap at the start of my transition.

That’s it. Pretty sweet. You now have a drag n drop glitch transition pack that was totally free all in exchange for all of your personal data which I’m now going sell to Cambridge Analytica… Not really I’m not clever enough for that.
