Leica has Two New Cameras in Development

It’s been discovered that Leica is developing two new cameras thanks to a dataminer taking a close look at the Leica FOTOS app. As reported by LeicaRumors (https://leicarumors.com/2022/06/02/two-new-leica-cameras-under-development-code-names-wilson-leica-q3-and-rene-leica-m11-monochrom.aspx/), the coding lists an already rumoured camera for this year and a brand new one. It uses code names to describe each new camera.

The first camera is code named “Wilson” which we know is the already rumoured Leica Q3 camera for 2023. It’s also been officialy confirmed that the Leica Q3 camera will be arriving next year but this confirms it will also work with the Leica FOTOS app. The next camera seems to be code named “Rene” and is a Leica M type. There are no details about the “Rene” camera yet but it’s suspected to be based on the Leica M11 model.

It looks like Leica has begun testing both of these upcoming digital cameras. This should mean that we can expect to start hearing more about both camera over the coming months.
