Camera rumour website SonyAlphaRumors has revealed the sensor in the Nikon Z9 might be the product of Sony. According to a trusted source, Nikon is only licensed to use the sensor in the new camera. Not only is Sony responsible for creating the sensor, they’ve also patented it which prevents Nikon and other manufacturers from making similar sensors.
The website claims (https://www.sonyalpharumors.com/nikon-z9-sensor-is-not-only-produced-but-also-patented-by-sony/) that this revelation has some from the same source who provided them with correct details about the A7IV specs. Due to this, the information is coming from a proven reliable source and has a high chance of being correct.
It’s clear that Sony knew well in advance about the new Nikon camera and the company has most likely adapted their plans due to it.
