Panasonic Europe has officially confirmed that they have no plans to increase the prices of their cameras or lenses. The company recently spoke with Amateur Photographer about the pricing hikes currently plaguing the camera industry. Almost all camera manufacturers have announced price increases this year.
AP reports that a Panasonic spokesperson states that “all cameras across our G-Series Micro Four Thirds and S-Series Full Frame ranges will not be increasing in price”. They also add that “there are no price rises for lenses either”. The statement from Panasonic Europe does seem specific to certain ranges so it’s possible there might still be some price increases for other cameras from the company.
Other manufacturers including Sony, Canon, Nikon, Leica and more have all reported price increases this year. Some products have escaped the price increases so far while other companies such as OM Digital Solutions aren’t increasing the camera body price but are increasing lens prices.
